Algarve Markets & Events - Loulé

The Algarve offers all year a wide range of events: international sports events such as the women soccer “Algarve Cup”, the cycle race “Volta ao Algarve”, the “Biker Convention” in Faro and the golf tournament “Portugal Masters” in Vilamoura – folk festivals and street parties, e.g. the carnival procession, the “Festival MED” and the “Noite Branca”, all in Loulé, and the Festival F in Faro – a very vivid folklore scene with the international folklore festival “Folkfaro” as annual highlight – a large programme of theatre, music and dance events of the Teatro das Figuras in Faro and the Cineteatro in Loulé – gastronomic highlights such as the “Festa da Ria Formosa“ in Faro und die „Algarve Chefs Week“ in leading restaurants in the region – art exhibitions, fairs for the international community, charity events, nature experiences and many more. Almost every day pedlars are selling their goods at “Mercados Mensais”, known as gipsy markets, at different places all over the Algarve, and on the weekends the flea markets, “Feiras da Velharia”, are tourist attractions and treasure troves for those looking for a bargain.
