Location and access

Vila Sol is situated in the Golden Triangle of the Algarve within a wide valley of natural beauty between Quarteira and Vilamoura. It is only a six km drive from the national road EN125 in Almancil and less than ten kms from exit 12 of the A22 motorway.

Golf course

Vila Sol has a well-deserved reputation as one of the best courses in Portugal. The 27hole golf course, designed by the famous architect Donald Steel, operates as three 9-hole loops that can be played in any combination to offer golfers of all abilities a challenging but rewarding experience.

Prime + Challenge: This scenario consists of  pine, almond and fig trees, plants, flowers, lakes and streams, which all add to the pleasure and challenge of completing 72 strokes at this championship golf course, making the experience unforgettable from first to last shot.

Prestige: For those who want a faster start and short game, this Academy golf course gives the opportunity for some major golf training sessions. It can also be booked for “twilight golf” in the late afternoon.

Services & facilities

The comfortable clubhouse, with its central location, is the starting and finishing point for each of the three 9-hole loops.

The practice facility encompasses a driving range of 300 meters, two putting greens, chipping areas and bunkers. The Golf Academy offers tailor made programs for individual players and groups.

Noteworthy

Vila Sol Golf has twice played host to the Portuguese Open, in 1992 and 1993 and has won many awards for its superior quality and high environmental standards.
