Vila Nova de Cacela is a parish (freguesia) in the municipality (concelho) of Vila Real de Santo António.

The village is situated in the eastern Algarve (Sotavento) on the national road EN125, the main road linking east to west in the Algarve, and the single track railway Linha do Algarve stops here. Vila Nova was raised to village (vila) status in 1927, when the seat of the parish was moved from Cacela Velha on the coast to further inland.

The parish includes the popular beach resort Manta Rota and the picturesque hamlet of Cacela Velha, also called Sitio da Igreja, located at the eastern end of the Ria Formosa.

The golf courses Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima are situated on the coast in close proximity to the Robinson Club. Further inland is the Golf & Country Club Monte Rei, one of the most exclusive golf courses in the whole Portugal.
