Salir: At the border of the Serra de Caldeirão |

Located on two hills on the way from Loulé to Alte, the village of Salir has still almost maintained its original state. The lager and newer part is assembled around the parish church and the nearby water tower, visible already from the far. (see the panoramic view above).
A smaller group of old houses is clustered around the Western hill of the castle. Only a few ruins still exist of this castle, built by the Moors. The circular track, shadowed by a rich vegetation, leads along the remainders of the wall. |
