Experience the Serra by bus |
|
From the comfort of a mini-bus we aim to show you the natural charms of the Serra, set in a landscape full of unique shades of green, created as a result of the distinctive microclimate.
We will be able to admire magnificent and rare local plant species such as Mediterranean Oak, Italian Stone Pine, Monchique Oak, Chestnut, Dwarf Oaks and the beautiful and rare Rhododendron. You will be surprised to see how easily plants from almost anywhere in the world grow here, such as the magnificent Magnolia which is over 300 years old, located near to the Nossa Senhora do Desterro Convent and two rare classified Norfolk Island Pines, among many others.
We will be able to observe the traditions of ancient life such as terraced farming, cork and wood extraction and preparation and arbous liqueur and honey production.
We will take a circular route through the county, from Picota, at 774 m, to Fóia, at 902 m, from where, on clear days, most of the Algarve can be seen to the south and Arrábida, to the north.
A lunch comprised of regional dishes is served at a traditional restaurant.
