The baroque Church Santa Engrâcia, inaugurated only in 1966,has been converted into a National Pantheon in1916. Among the cenotaphs to outstanding historical personalities are Luís de Camões, Pedro Álvares Cabral, Afonso de Albuquerque, Nuno Álvares Pereira, Vasco da Gama and Henry the Navigator.
