Praia Grande
The endless sandy beach stretches over several miles between the salt marshes of Salgaos and the tourist centre Armação de Pêra, seperated by dunes from the wasteland of the Ria de Armação.

Praia dos Pescadores means beach of the fishermen - this eastern part of the beach was used by the fishermen from Pêra to store their equipment. ("armação" is the Portuguese word for their cottages). Some of these can still be found here.

The beach is situated in a small rocky bay below the resort. Like in many other places of the rocky Algarve coast there is a certain rock fall hazard. The infrastructure provided by the hotel, for free, includes a lifeguard on duty, as well as sunshades and towels.
Sra. da Rocha
This little chapel, situated on a small rocky outcrop some miles west of Armação de Pêra, is one of the landmarks of the Algarve coastline.
Praia da Sra. da Rocha
Due to its excellent infrastructure the beach on the opposite side of the chapel is much more frequented.
