Loulé: Bolo-rei
Annual public degustation of a large Christmas cake in the centre of Loulé on Epiphany
As every year on Epiphany, the Câmara Municipal of Loulé offers a huge Christmas cake to the public. Bolo-rei, also known as " bolo de reis" or "bolo de Natal", is a traditional Portuguese cake, eaten between December 25 and January 6. On Epiphany, "Dia des Reis" in Portugal, the cake is presented to the public on the Praça da República in the centre of Loulé, cut into slices and handed out by volunteers.
