The Pestana Dom João Village is a comfortable and well-situated Beach Resort that enjoys a unique and enviable setting with direct access to Alvôr Beach.
The Alvor Estuary, close to the hotel, is one of the country's most important bird sanctuaries.
Directly overlooking the beach of Praia de Alvor, adjacent to the Torralta holiday complex, is this popular middle category hotel which was completely refurbished recently.
A superb beach for sunbathing and swimming lies just beyond the hotel's gardens which contain a pool (heated in winter) separate children's pool, terrace and lawns, and a snack bar. Barbecues are held here once a week during warm summer months.
There are also 7 tennis courts (2 in the Hotel Delfim and 5 in Hotel Alvor Praia about 800 metres away) while other sporting activities are available in the near vicinity including various types of aqua sports (water-skiing or sailing, mini golf, billiards, table tennis or lawn bowling.
br>The restaurant and grill, which is open in summer, offer excellent cuisine with breakfast as well as buffet dinner.
There are two bars, games and TV room, live music and dancing, or a trip to the Casino in the beach resort of Praia da Rocha with its varied entertainment. A hairdressing salon and kiosk are available and shopping in Alvor (1.5 km).
If you enjoy shopping in town a free bus shuttle is on offer three times a day to take you from the hotel to the busy fishing port of Portimão 5 km away, renowned for its fine shoe shops and fresh fish restaurants. |
