Salgados golf course, opened in September 1994, is located near the extensive Galé beach between Pera and Albufeira. The originally marshland terrain is an absolute treasure-trove of rare birds which can be best observed at dawn and dusk.
The low lying wetlands of the landscape have been skilfully used in the layout, which incorporates 14 water hazards! Accuracy of shot making is therefore of extreme importance. Sea and land breezes across the low laying terrain often affect playing conditions, making it a challenging course that demands full concentration.
The original course design has been produced by Portugal’s Pedro Vasconelos and Robert More Graves from USA has added refinements to it.
