The village of Alcantarilha in the municipality of Silves is situated on the EN125 road between Albufeira and Lagoa. North of the EN125 the houses of the old, almost untouched part are clustered around the parish church. Along the other side of the road an expanding area with newly built townhouses, villas and apartments extends towards Armação de Pêra.
