The county of Loulé with a size of 765 km² and over 60.000 residents (2004) is the largest and financially healthiest in the Algarve. The county extends from the Atlantic ocean in the south to the Serra do Caldeirão in the north.
The economic strength of the area is mainly owed to the so-called "Golden Triangle" between Almancil and Quarteira with its world renowned golf and holiday resorts of Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo and Vilamoura. |
