Access to Meia Praia:
From direction Faro: After crossing the Ribeira de Bensafrim make a U-turn (360°) at the first roundabout, then follow the signs to the beach.
From direction Vila do Bispo: Follow the signs to Portimão, than turn right to the beach. |

| Meia Praia beach stretches over 4 ½ km from the exit of Lagos’ harbour in the west to the bay of Alvor in the east. Meia Praia is a large flat beach with calm waters. The single track railway (“Linha do Algarve”) connecting Lagos with Vila Real de St. António on the Spanish border runs parallel to the dunes behind the beach. The train runs several times a day. Even during the summer months, the beach has enough parking spaces and several restaurants and beach bars offer drinks and snacks. The western section of Meia Praia was awarded the Blue Flag by the FEE for quality, cleanliness and safety. Most of the time a moderate westerly wind blows, pleasantly cooling the hot summer temperatures, day and night. |
