Pinheiros Altos has been designed to create the perfect environment for those who love the Algarve and have a passion for golf.
The resort borders the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, an international haven for rare and endangered nesting and migrating birds and takes every precaution to protect this environment.
The golf course was designed by the respected American architect, Ronald Fream and consists of two nines of contrasting character. The front nine covers a rolling landscape of tall pines (“Pinheiros Altos”) while the back nine is played on the gently moulded Gondra where lakes abound and dominate the strategy of the golfer. The intimidating island green 17th has become Pinheiros Altos’ signature hole.
