Museu Municipal de Loulé

The municipal museum of Loulé includes various museum spaces presenting different themes and distributed among different locations in the entire municipality. The main museum of archaeology is installed in the impressive vaulted basement of the former castellany in the Castelo de Loulé.  The exhibits represent various periods – from pre-historic times to the Middle-Ages, including the periods of Romans, Visigoths and the important Islamic age.

The decentralized museum includes also the following spaces:

•    Pólo Museológico da Cozinha Tradicional in the first floor of the castle
•     Pólo Museológico dos Frutos Secos in the historic part of Loulé
•     Pólo Museológico da Água in Querença
•     Pólo Museológico de Salir
•     Pólo Museológico Cândido Guerreiro e Condes de Alte
•     Centro de Documentação do Museu Municipal de Loulé
