Quinta da Ria Golf

Location and access

The golf courses Quinta de Cima and Quinta da Ria are located in the eastern Algarve on the national road EN125 between Tavira and Vila Real d.S.A. on the border of the Ria Formosa nature reserve. Extensive orange groves and vineyards dominate the scenery, taking advantage of the fertile lagoon landscape. It is a drive of about 16 kms from the A22 motorway exit 16 (Tavira), and ten km from exit 17 coming from Spain.  

Golf course

This spectacular 18 hole golf course spreads along an almost flat surface of 660.000 sqm down to the Ria Formosa with a stunning view of the sea. Five lakes were strategically built along the course, and are also used as water reservoirs for the irrigation and  are fed from  a stream. The smoothly undulating greens, are well protected by bunkers.

More than 300 trees, such as olive and carob have been transplanted in order to maintain the ancient border of the course and the typical features of the region’s landscape. From anywhere on the course, one can see both the mountains and the sea. The surrounding orange trees and vineyards give their contribution to this peaceful rural scenery.

Services & facilities

Built in an old farm house the Clubhouse of Quinta da Ria and Quinta Cima golf courses offer a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is the ideal place for a light snack before or after golf and the member’s top terrace offers fantastic views over the Ria Course.

A 6-hole Par 3 Academy Course is the ideal place to improve your game skills. The practice facilities include a large practice area, putting greens and a chipping and pitching area with bunkers.

Noteworthy

Apart from the Robinson Club situated in between the Ria and Cima courses there is no real estate construction going on, so golfers can experience the true and unspoilt nature of the Ria Formosa.
