Golf region Costa de la Luz

The westernmost part of the Costa del Sol on the Bay of Cadiz, also known as "Costa de la Luz", stretches from the lower course of the Guadiana river, the border of Spain with Portugal, to Gibraltar. The Strait of Gibraltar geologically separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean; however, the weather and climate is almost the same as in the neighbouring Eastern Algarve (Sotavento). The golf courses of the Costa de la Luz are located on the Guadiana near Ayamonte and in the regions Huelva, Cadiz and Seville.

Getting to Costa de la Luz

The toll motorway A22 is connecting the major cities in the Algarve with the Spanish border near Castro Marim. From there it's a 40 min. drive to Huelva and 90 min. to Seville. The motorway A-49 in Spain is toll-free.
