Moncarapacho: Cerro São Miguel
Highest elevation in the Serra de Monte Figo in the Eastern Algarve
Eye-catching cone-shaped mountain offering impressive views from the eastern coast and the Spanish border to almost Albufeira in the west.
The Cerro São Miguel (410 m) is the highest elevation in the Serra de Monte Figo, a ridge of hills near the A22 motorway between Olhão in the south and São Brás de Alportel in the north.
It can be reached by car via a small road from Moncarapacho in the direction of Azinheiro. From the peak visitors have a splendid view over large parts of the Eastern Algarve from Faro to Tavira.
