Downhills are characteristically more of a sporting event. They can be held either on dirt tracks as shown in the picture on the left, tarmac/dirt tracks or just tarmac tracks, the latter therefore decreasing the level of difficulty.
They start at the top of Fóia, at an altitude of 900 m, where the whole of the western Algarve and southwest coast can be seen and travel down the south slope towards the coast among Eucalyptus trees and Mediterranean Oaks, with a stop at the Bravura dam for a timely dip.

Clothing and footwear are of the client’s responsibility, however, in order to practise the different activities comfortably and safely, we recommend the use of the appropriate equipment.
Equipment:
Mountain bikes with a 28” aluminium frame, 26” wheels, V-brakes, Shimano 21 speed gears, gel saddle, helmet and gloves. |
