A new star on the gastronomic horizon of Quinta do Lago
The Bovino Steakhouse, situated on top of a hill overlooking the lake near roundabout 6 in Quinta do Lago, had been inaugurated early in June 2015. We have been the first guests to enjoy a lunch at the pool bar, and a few days later we came back with some friends for dinner.
The place of the former restaurant Casa Velha has been completely reshaped and extended by one of Europe’s most acclaimed interior designer – combining the best of the traditional architecture with contemporary style. At daytime the Pool Bar is offering fine snacks and a large selection of drinks, and in the evening everything is about the finest of dry-aged beef in the restaurant. A terrace on rooftop offers great views to the sea and the lake, inviting for a nightcap.
We especially enjoyed the Crevice of Ribald (raw marinated slices of sea bass) and oysters with vinaigrette at the Pool Bar. In the evening we could convince ourselves that the excellent quality of the beef did match our high expectations. We also appreciated the great selection of Portuguese and international wines and the fact that a sauce of choice and a side dish were already included in the price, which was at Quinta do Lago level.
Finally good news for all friends of Yannick & Céline Guichaoua: Casa Velha will soon reopen with a brand new look, but the same incredible flavours of their French Cuisine.
