Early morning stroll in the Barrocal

Walking our dogs on Easter Monday 2016
Tuesday, 29 March 2016 | Excursion

After some warmer days end of March 2016 the nature of the Barrocal landscape has fully unfold. Our way goes through a brushy area, a kind of macchia with cistus and wild pistacia plants and other shrubs – an ideal territory for brown hares and other smaller animals and an exciting sniffle experience for our dogs. We pass a narrow country lane lined with traditional old walls, then cross an olive grove, where the larger trees are already in bud. On the way back we stroll through blooming meadows with almond and carob trees with large holes where screech owls are nesting.
